Feel free to look around
Shrewsbury Sub Aqua Club are doing our best to keep diving during the current COVID19 pandemic.
Unfortunately, Shropshire County Council have still not re-opened the Quarry Fitness Centre swimming pools which is where we do all our training. This means that we are unable to start any new training courses or offer any try dives at the present time.
The club operates 2 RIBS (rigid inflatable hull) diving boats. However, due to distancing rules we are unable to take more than 3 individuals (i.e. two divers plus coxwain) in a RIB at any one time. This is effectively restricting our club diving to shore dives. Shore diving is also restricted by the limitations on the number of individuals from different households who can meet up.
Charter boats are operating with reduced numbers of divers and we are able to run trips on charter boats. Our members are also taking advantage of inland quarry sites being open, although the reduced numbers admitted and requirement to book in advance makes it difficult to organise club diving sessions. Some sites are also not allowing trainees to enter at present.
If you are interested in doing a try dive or learning to dive please get in contact with us via our Contact Us page and we will keep you informed of updates. We will also update this page as the situation changes.
